The Federation of British International Schools in Asia

WHAT IS FOBISIA?

Founded in 1988, the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) is a registered Society in Singapore with its Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand.

It is a not-for-profit membership organisation in the international education sector.  FOBISIA is the premier Federation supporting and promoting high-quality British education in Asia.  With more than 30 years of shared history, the FOBISIA family is a diverse and inclusive community of Member Schools spanning 19 countries across Asia, including Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

FOBISIA’s membership also includes an expanding range of Affiliate Members, including educational organisations and suppliers whose services and products are of interest to Member Schools.  Going forward, FOBISIA aims for continued but sustainable growth and to strengthen the benefits the Federation provides to all of its members.

FOBISIA promotes excellence in British-international education and provides peer-to-peer support, continuing professional development and student enrichment opportunities for a diverse range of Member Schools in Asia.

“ FOBISIA wouldn’t have such high-quality professional development offerings nor such an extensive student enrichment programme, if it wasn’t for the enduring commitment that our Member Schools have to bringing  something to the table for the benefit of all.  The  Federation is more than just a group of schools - it is the way FOBISIA members work together that makes it unique.”
