Primary Music Exchange 2026
What works, shared. Bangkok, 6th and 7th November 2026.
Primary Music Exchange (PMX) is a brand new 1.5 day professional learning experience built specifically for Early Years and Primary music teachers working in the Asian region.
Two days, two different experiences
Day one is all about getting stuck in. You will join a KS2 instrumental lesson on something brand new to you, sing along in The Big Sing with children and colleagues, swap lesson ideas by teaching them live, and explore play-based music making for Early Years and KS1.
Day two has a more familiar conference feel. Experienced international school teachers share what they get up to, there is a whole strand on music tech and music production for the younger years, and plenty of relaxed time to talk, compare notes and build your professional community across the region and beyond.
Why it is different
- Learn alongside the children. Experience being a beginner again, then take that empathy straight back into your own classroom.
- Real classrooms, real teaching. See ideas tried out live with a class of students.
- Observe and reflect together. Watch how colleagues teach, notice what works and talk through why.
- A space just for Early Years and KS1. Play-based music learning focus.
- Ideas from the community. Space for sharing what works in your context.
The need-to-know bits
PMX is hosted by St Andrews International School Bangkok, Primary School, in partnership with Music Teachers In International Schools (MTIIS). Both days are just 2,300 THB, with Friday-only and Saturday-only options also available. Every ticket includes food, drinks and resources to take home. We are recommending delegates stay at the the Jasmine Resort Hotel.
Registration is open now! Come and play, learn, share, and head home with a pile of ideas you can use the very next day.
