St. George’s University (School of Medicine & Veterinary Science) is a pioneer at the forefront of global medical education established in 1976 & the first private medical school in the Caribbean, based in Grenada

It is a leader in the first time scores on the United States Licensing Examinations, with over 7400 students and with global pathway opportunities and clinical rotations in US and UK for MD students and Australia, Canada, Ireland for DVM students..

In its 35 years of academic achievement, St. George’s University School of Medicine has graduated over 15,000 Doctor’s to the global health care system and graduates have been licensed in all 50 states and Canada and have practiced in over 50 countries of the world.

There are over 2400 faculty at SGU and over 1,400 clinical faculty at the School of Medicine’s over 70 affiliated hospitals and clinical centers* in the United States, Canada, Grenada and the United Kingdom.

The majority of St. George’s University School of Medicine students have come from the top 100 US schools, with over 500 students from Ivy League schools in the United States, and nearly 7,000 graduated from universities in the US News and World Reports list of Top National Universities 2010.

Currently the University has circa 85% US and Canadian students and 15% circa International students

SGU offers 4 Year MD and DVM programmes for Science graduates as well as 5,6,7 year MD and DVM programmes for younger students from High School/Pre Med Programmes.

Scholarships and Bursaries are offered to International students in Asia.
