Art History Competiton: "My Favourite Artwork"

'My Favourite Artwork' invited students of all ages to write an analysis of their favourite artwork: the hosts asked students to tell them what made their chosen artwork meaningful, beautiful or memorable to them. This first time event attracted entries from 12 of our Member Schools and there were many fantastic entries which made selecting winners very challenging. Congratulations to everyone who entered, and especially to the following:

Visual Arts Competition
DATES 9 September - 18 November 2024
HOST Haileybury Almaty
This year's Visual Arts event was hosted by Haileybury Almaty School who invited students from ages 4-18 at FOBISIA Member Schools to explore their artistic response to the theme of a greener planet. What does a sustainable future world look like to them? Artwork could be created in any medium—painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, digital art, photography and more.
After much deliberation, the winners and highly commended artists are:

Online Short Film & Animation
Short Film Challenge (online)

Jerudong International School is scheduled to host a Short Film Challenge in March this year. The proposed event outline is as follows and they are keen to seek expressions of interest in participating in the event to support further planning.
Participants will be given a brief with of key elements that they must place into a short film, including:
- A line of dialogue
- A title
- A prop
This can be placed into any genre, the winning film will be based on the best use of these within the film rather than technical brilliance. The films must be made over a one week period from receiving the challenges (10th-17th March with submissions due on 17th March).
- Films must be no more than 5 minutes and can only be made during the production week.
- Teams should consist of 5 or less technical crew (director, editor, camera operator etc), but there will be no limit on the number of actors.
